I need a rear rack to hold a Givi 53l Outback Top Case. I am looking to Atlrider, Givi, and SW Mototech. My setup is 1-Up so I an leaning toward the Altrider System. I do not see a weight limit on the Altrider page. The Givi is limited to 6g or about 14lbs. No info on weight limit from SW Mototech.

Best on I have seen is Jesse Luggage, plus they have storage underneath and a locking rear box under the rear mounting plate. I will get you some pics.

Or the non box version...

Altrider for me, any day. Sturdy & well thought out it gets rid of all the Yamaha rack sub-structures - available from the Adventure Bike Shop here in the Uk too.

See: - www.adventurebikeshop.co.uk

Way superior to the Givi plate I fitted initially & gives my pillion a few cm of extra space. There was a bit of a delay with the Givi Monokey top case mounting kit, which took a while to come from Seattle.

I have the swmotec. I got the aluminum version. It's nice and has quarter turn quick release fastners for the givi mount. It keeps my 52l outback case secure. Weight limit isn't that big a deal for me. I usually keep the top box empty for my helmet and riding gear. You don't want too much weight up high anyway.

Will the Jesse rack with the rear compartment allow mounting a Givi top box?
Yes it will, just get the aux mounting plate and mount to bottom of Givi or any other case...grin.

Looks like you can screw anything you want to that huge adapter plate... including Givi mounts. Even fasten the box directly to the plate. I doubt Jesse has anything specific to any other manufacturer's stuff, they have their own. But adapter plates are just that, for adapting, a big blank canvas.

Google the following:
givi m3 monokey mount
Here's a typical result:

This is a nice flat metal Monokey plate that you can mount with. You'll need to drill mounting holes and buy some hardware.

Don't put the box out on a cantilever plate so that it is like a diving board. Rather than spending a couple hundred for a rack, my M3 is bolted to a plate that I made from 3/4" thick HDPE kitchen cutting board.

The givi mount has a somewhat T-shaped area on the bottom that the SW motec mount has a cut out for. The two fit together snug even before you fasten it. If you have a particular top case you want to use, I would find one that is designed to work with it. Much better than just bolting things together.
