toadady
lost in the woods
2014 ES, cruise quit, so I just dealt with it because I didn't want it tied up at the dealership while the sun was shining, FFW to Saturday and a friend said "hey your brake light is on all the time," well that'll do it,
I could reach in and push the plunger up, and I had cruise back until I used the foot brake. So Sunday I decided to remove it and see if I could clean or lube or do something . I was amazed to see i could take it apart fully clean, and reassemble with dielectric grease,
several things apart to remove it
I failed to get a pic of the top of it, but after removing it, it looks like this
the contacts just slide out
plunger assy is next, notice all the grime and that little spring is all that pushes the plunger back up
+
stem all cleaned up and reassembled
housing was dirty too
cleaned up with contact cleaner and greased with dielectric grease
not much else other than the old "assembly is reverse of disassembly"
the pivot bolt was in need of some attention
