I'm assembling a tool kit for a CDR attack this summer. The rear axle nut is 27 mm and requires 90 ft. Lbs of torque. Have any of you hard core adv types come across a 27 mm closed end wrench that isn't 15 inches long and heavy. I was thinking of the motion Pro T6 but I'm not sure it's really up to the 90 ft lbs. and it looks a little on the short side to provide much leverage.

I have the Motion Pro T6 Combo and it is difficult to remove the properly torqued nut. I am shifting to a 1 1/16" combo wrench with the open end cut off. This, combined with a extension tube, should provide adequate leverage to loosen and tighten the nut on the road/trail.

I will still keep the T6 in the tool wrap for the socket capability and the aluminum tire iron.

I use the T-6 from motion pro. I weigh 180 pounds. If i stand on it, i can generate enough torque tighten/loosen within spec.

I found a combo that has a 27mm and 19mm on the other end to work the front axle loose. It's short though, need to find a chunk of rectangular tubing to finish it out. It's Moose/Fredette.

I have that tool but did not know anyone was still making it.

I carry the full size combo wrench, but I also carry a T-6. I have used the T-6 to both break loose and torque the rear axle nut. It's rated for the 90 ft/lbs. It's a lot easier if you use a second box wrench, slipped over the spoon end of the T-6, as additional length/leverage. My full size combo wrench fits nicely in the bottom of my pannier. That's my preferred tool and imho, worth the weight/space when pulling the rear wheel in the field.

This is a great ratchet for a bike tool kit, but it's kinda big. A standard 3/8" ratchet is more than sufficient and is useful fo revery fastener you'd want to remove or replace elsewhere on the bike (rear brake arm, front calipers, etc. etc.).
Yes I carry both a regular 3/8 ths ratchet and the extendable one in both of my bikes, in my opinion the extendable ratchet is unbeatable for heavy work and it doesn't take up much more space than a standard ratchet. Yes it's a cheap Harbor Freight tool but believe it or not it's a very high quality item .
