to speak to other members about their super tenere
This is my first post on this forum. Greetings from Australia ::003::
I bought my S10 in June 2013 and I've had a clutch vibration at 3000rpm from new. Have taken the bike to the dealership and they told me the engine mounts were loose. I know this was not the case as I purposely checked them with a torque wrench before it went in. Yamaha told me there was definitely nothing wrong with it. Why then does the 2014 model have a rubberised dampening system on the clutch basket?
The engine make a noise when under load from about 3000 to 4000rpm. If I weight the clutch lever the vibration goes away completely and the induction noise goes away to a very smooth engine.
I understand Barnetts make clutch baskets and that one could possibly be in the pipeline for the S10. I emailed them to see where they were at, but have not received a reply. I'm hoping Barnetts do make a basket as I definitely see this as a solution to my frustration. I will definitely get one. Anyone know what's happening with S10 clutch baskets?
Am I ::002:: ??
Thanks for any help you guys can give me. :)

You need to ride someone else's Ten to see if it is just a quirk of the twin or a legit issue on your bike.
If it is a legit issue on your bike then you MUST fight with the dealer and the Yamaha distributor in your area and press them into repairing it.

I've been touching base with Barnett's. I spoke to them a few days before Christmas. I was told by a family member they where going to talk about the Tenere clutch over the Holliday. I'm giving them a few extra days to get back in the swing of things and then touch case with them again next week. I'll post what I find. If they reply back with you will you post your findings. I'm looking forward to installing what they come up with. Mine has the same vibe at 3000. I've had the opportunity to ride about 100 teneres and test many things.

The post above has lots of information regarding the clutch basket. I have been using a modified/repaired basket from John (Sharealike) in my bike which no longer has the 3-4K vibration that I had in my bike since I bought it. Major improvement to not have that in the bike. Feel free to contact John via the form and I'm sure he can give you all the information you need regarding his process for repair etc. The issues with the existing basket are not reliability ones so I would highly doubt Yamaha will have any interest in supporting you on this as I don't believe they have a real fix yet.
