Just threw my deposit down on the January 25-29 dates for the Intro and Base Camp. Anyone want to invade the boxers with the sweetness that is the parallel?

I invaded the Rawhyde Aventure Challenge in Moab. I have to say I was not impressed with the organization of the events. It took all day to run 20 guys through the field events. However the hospitality and food was great.

Having never owned a bike near this large, I need someone to point in a direction that will allow me to get outta a gravel driveway without looking like a dolt. After the cash I have expended on racing schools, for under $2k for nearly 5 days of bs'ing about motorcycles and riding them, i cannot complain ::021::

I will be riding from Richmond, VA out. Planning on doing an ironbutt to get into the cool kids club early in the week, then taking my time getting out there the rest.

I bought some health insurance ::001:: and went to Rawhydes intro & base camp last April. BEST MONEY I've ever spent ::012:: Took my S10 after riding it for 18 thousand Km and learned more in 4 days than in years of self teaching
Just leave your ego at the gate :)) and prepare to watch, listen, ride & learn
the S10 fit right in with all those beemers ::021::

I sure would love to go. I'm sure I could benefit from the instruction. Vacation off from work no problem coming up with the money not so easy. You are welcome to stop by my place enroute I'm about 15 miles south of I40, 50 miles west of Nashville. Definitely let us know your thoughts and opinions. I too have not had a bike this big and I'm sure technique is key. I have surprised myself a few times only because i couldn't turn around ::025:: I probably need more confidence that anything the bike really does well.

Did the one day free clinic when they came through Houston. Proved invaluable/on my trip to Alaska.

Be prepared to eat sand in the Mojave >:D Most work & most fun I've had in a long time . Those desert sand whoops were almost worth the trip. The S10 never gave up even though I did on several occasions :)). I'm sure those beemer riders were expecting less out of the S10. Enjoy yourself. Tell Jim & the boys I said hi

That sounds like an awesome route!! Riding the S10 through Aspen could get a little squirrely depending on the weather, but it definitely will be a fun trip! If you get the chance, take a look at the Cycle Gear "Freeze Out" products. I used their one piece body suit under my riding gear on a ride this past weekend, and it is awesome stuff.

I use a Shoompa balaclava when it is brutally cold - good stuff - wind and water proof, thin enough that it doesn"t make my helmet feel like it is a size too small.

If you don't have them, some kind of handguard mitts or covers make a huge difference in boosting the effectiveness of your electric gloves when it is really cold. I used a set of QuadBoss ATV mitts I got off Amazon for $22... they worked fine for about 4,000 miles, then got mostly shredded on a ride last week - wind was 40-50 mph going across KY, IL, MO and AR, and the top of each was flogged to pieces.

Just went and looked at the Cycle Gear Freeze Out stuff. Man, that is some sale. . . . bought four items, all in stock and shipping for free (if you get $99 in your cart). Thanks for the heads-up!
