I had one on the Super Tenere when I first added my Zumo 590... no issues. RAM mounts are good bits of kit. I've now got the SatNav on the screen bar as I prefer it there ....

I did use a RAM mount on the handlebar, but now I'm using the RAM mount on the bar of the MADSTAD windscreen mount. I find it better in that position; more in the line of sight.

Yes.

I had it on my BMW RT and when I got my XTZ, I moved it over.

Works very well. Not used often though; mostly just for GoPro once in a blue moon.

Upgraded to an enclosed RAM box for the GPS mounted on the adjustable windshield bar.

I tried installing on the bar but the vibration was so bad I couldn't read the screen. Did you do something to stop the vibration?

Thanks for all the replies ! Guess I will have to take one of the handlebar bolts out and take it to hardware store to find out exactly what size and thread pitch it is before ordering anything. Bought a new nuvi 66 LM yesterday for $118.00 on eBay.

I make sure the MADSTAD bracket is tightly fixed to the plastic uprights that support the OEM screen. However, on bumpy roads there is always an element of vibration. It's perfectly OK on smooth roads though.

On other threads we've seen colleagues using metal strips to support the windscreen bracket to the side wind deflectors mounting bolts. Apparently this makes the windscreen bracket rock solid without vibrations. I have never used this method so I cannot say how good it is. You may wish to search this forum.

I have one of these RAM balls and an allen wrench in my travel kit so that I can mount my phone or GPS on rental bikes.

That looks like the bit that connects to the back of the sat-nav, how did you then connect that to the bike?

That is where I am having a problem, the kit that came with mine will not fit onto the handlebars other than right at the end where they taper right down, I cannot find anything to fix it near the middle of the bars without buying custom S10 kits at £60+

This is the accessory RAM bike mount you can buy if you need another Zumo 590 mount. It is the same as supplied with the Zumo 590.

https://buy.garmin.com/en-AU/AU/shop-by-accesories/mounts/ram-mounting-kit/prod8130_010-10962-00.html

It can mount to the bar (but only half way down the upright due to bar thickness on the S10)
I can also mount to clutch/mirror brackets of some bike and is supplied with various bolts to do this.

I already had a Zumo 590 mounted to my Kawasaki Versys 650, so when I bought the S10 interstate I just purchaced the 590 RAM mount and 590 cradle and cover so I can use the 590 on either bike now.

Here is the 590 mounted on the S10

So have you got the square plate with a RAM ball on it, which bolts to the back of the unit? also do you have a short RAM arm?

So when you have those two connected you need to secure it to the bike ? if so it will be an M8 RAM ball you need, which will replace one of the 4 handlebar clamp bolts....if that is correct I still have the one I was using..... if you want to give it a go PM me your address and I'll send it ;)

Check out the Ram claw mount. It holds great and can be taken on & off in seconds. Take it anywhere, anytime.
What's your setup to mount that radar? It looks really low and tight which is nice. With the way the Ram mounts are set up they have to extend out a bit further than I care for. I have one I use for my phone, but would like to mount my radar as low and forward as possible on the front windshield mounting bar.
