Hello all,

I'm wanting to purchase a Ram Mount so that I can use my phone as a GPS.

This one right here ---> http://www.amazon.com/Cradle-Holder-Universal-X-Grip-Cellphone/dp/B0055PH0XA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455229863&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxy+s5+ram+mount
I think the GPS mounting bar on our windscreens is 1/2 in diameter, which means that this base (for .5"=1" bars) should work -----------> http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-U-Bolt-1-Inch-Inches-Diameter/dp/B002AQV51A/ref=pd_sim_468_5?ie=UTF8&dpID=41-8V6HQlnL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR110%2C160_&refRID=0QXBEWRH8PQ5BDF442EX

Can anyone confirm if this base will work on the windscreen mounting bar... or is there a better option that I'm completely overlooking? I do want use the windscreen bar rather than the handlebars. I feel like my searching skills have failed me here.

Thanks in advance

I found that the X-Grip posted by Kendall works better for me than the finger grip posted by Bryce. Obviously ymmv and it's all what we each prefer.

For my Samsung Galaxy S5 the fingers stick up enough that I'd sometimes have to work to get around them to get to the screen and the one would block one volume control button. (I could slide the phone back or forth enough to be able to only block one.) Since I usually am listening to music or podcasts, losing a volume button was a deal killer.
