Posted recently about stalling on my new to me 2016 3500 mile super ten which is running lean due to arrow decat headers, an Akrapovic and K&N filter. Great responses and bike is now booked in for a reflash in August which will hopefully smooth it all out. I had neglected to mention that the former owner had also fitted an HM Plus SS quick shifter. As I look suspiciously at that little wire going from the quick shifter to the module under the seat I wonder whether I should have it removed as I can’t see the need for it on this bike. Does anyone else have a quick shifter and how would it affect the bike if it developed issues down the line. Taking the bike on tour next month and not sure whether to keep the quick shifter or ditch it.

I have a Quickshifter installed on my S10. Is it necessary? ... the truth is that it is a "very noticeable" improvement in the driving sensation, but it is not "necessarily" necessary. If the installed system (of which there are several) is good, if the system allows you to correctly adjust the cut-off time values and sensor sensitivity values….the improvement is “incredible”, incredible on asphalt twsties…it's another bike. Of course, I'm not talking about performance, I'm talking about sensations (the performances are surely hidden inside the sensations). For adventure, for gravel, for slow speed traversing, it is not necessary. In any case, the system that I have installed has multiregulations, which give precision to the change and the adaptation to the "way of passing the gears" of each one. It is disconnectable, and you can activate it so that it starts to act from “X” tr/m….it is only ascending (the descending QS would eliminate the engine brake by giving you a throttle to match the rpm…..Dirt Dad has QS on his 1290 “Adventure”, he could talk about the sensations when accelerating with and without QS
