Alright well it was really pricey but i just got the part in and installed it today and now i can drive through shrubs, bushes, and whatever else now and i am not going to worry about scratching my highlight lenses. ::001:: It feels like a brush guard for a truck and took me 5 minutes to install. It does give my Super Yammi a nice slick look and doesn't block my H.I.D headlights either. I highly recommend if you dont like scratches on your bike. ::002::

I've got the same one. It's pricey, but very well made and a perfect fit. ::008:: It just doesn't keep the coffee off the lens when the boys at Starbucks get rowdy. ::014:: R

Does it use the Yamaha studs to remove for cleaning? That would be real good.

Help me out here, dirtsailor. As I recall, you can use the existing Yamaha set up, or they include their own studs and sockets. Either way, it pops off …. solid ball and socket fit. Easy peasy. R. ::008::

I just stumbled across this thread.
I installed one a couple of days ago.
Touratech include all the fittings if (like mine) there isn't one on there to start with or you can use Yamaha studs.
Mine took just short of a month to arrive! Touratech in the UK were out of stock and waited for a delivery. I think I could've walked to Germany and back quicker ::)

As a reminder, I vaguely remember that 2 of the 4 stainless fittings are a tad longer and are supposed to go on the upper portion of the headlamp.

That's right.
BTW, the headlight cowl is held in place by the bolts which fit into threaded inserts inside rubber grommets which expand and hold everything in place. Push the bolt in too hard and the rubber grommet can pop out.
You then have to take the cowl off completely, get a torch then rummage inside the fairing to find it. Ask me how I know ;)
It helps to know lots of cuss words too.

Looking good guys. Err, stay clear of the desert. Blowing sand...

The Yamaha version with the clear plexiglass fits up the same way as the others. New bolts with longer on top, cups for the rubber bits and the protective bit pops off with studs.

It's just a matter of what you like. They are all better than no protection! Got to love the ease of cleaning though.
