I have bought a pair of givi removeable pannier rails, I have just realised that the reason that they seem to be not lining up with the subframe m10x1.25 mounts, it seems that my 14 spec bike, has no grab rails for the pillion, which of course space out the pannier mounts compared to mine which effectively means they are bolting directly to the frame. SO, I need to know how large a spacer I need to replicate the pillion grabs on the 'better equipped' earlier bike. If anyone could measure the depth/thickness of the pillion grab mountings Id be VERY grateful.

Just measured mine at the rear mounts, they are recessed and then have a protruding (spacer?) tab on the inside, so this is a eyeball with calipers about 15mm + 1mm for a washer. It looks to be the same at the front bolts, but they taper inwards on both left and right. When I sat 'eyeball' its because I 'd have to take the grab-rail off to give a 100% accurate measurement. But for your purpose 15 + 1 mm should do it.

If you have the Grab Rails... remove the spacers and use them for the mounts.

The OP has a European non-ES '14 model, so it comes without the grab rail, center stand and rear rack, all extras, hence the need to know what spacers to buy as the pannier racks are designed to go on top of the grab rails.

Yes, had to twist the dealers arm to throw in a center stand, sent him a picture of a new Guzzi Stelvio on a dealers floor and made it clear it was neck and neck between the bikes and without the stand, it would be the Guzzi. I have 6 guzzis, he knew that so buckled and threw in the stand, which given the bike was £3k off list was pretty cool.
Only 250 miles on the clock so far, Im liking SuperTen and feel I made the right decision.
