Going into a 3rd season with my Ranier. Serves me very well in the cold, wet and wind here in the mid-Appalachian mountains. Will have another if I ever manage to wear this one out.

I like the first gear stuff. Now I have a Klim badlands that I really love, and my brother is getting a latitude, which looks pretty sweet.

I have a Rainier as well. Red Color. I have it with the TPG Escape pants. I have been riding and have had a pool of water form in the seat of my motorcycle and my crotch stayed dry!! You may have to wear fleece underneath when it gets around 5 C or so. It's too warm to wear above 25 C. It's a great cold, wet weather jacket. The only thing I didn't like about it was the back protector. I purchased a CE approved one that I wear with it. Otherwise it's a great system. ::026::

I really like my Klim Traverse. Basically a shell, but can be dressed up & down depending on use. I don't have the pant yet. Waiting on stock. The Jacket is really tough with Gortex built in, not a liner. Can fully unzip for full ventilation, or wear a polar fleece under for the cold. Sooo versatile. ::008::

I've had pretty good luck with First Gear and their sister line of product Hein Gericke. I pretty much retired my last one last year and started wearing an Olympia AST jacket. I also picked up another Darien jacket about a month ago that I will use.

Too much gear - not enough time!!!

Yeah, but there are 5 more. You really should try to push the envelope a little. R ::025:: ::025:: ::015:: ::012:: ::012:: ::013:: ::025:: ::025:: ::025:: ::025::

well .... you were very kind but the information was too much :) Then I need more time to analyze the purchase.
If I have clear that jacket and pants for 2 thousand dollars is a little expensive for me, now I will look for options in the approximate price of all Firstgear Rainier or Latitude klim and search for more info about temperature rating of both and anothers
Thanks again

+1 regarding comments about First Gear. Very high quality for the price. Haven't had any experience with Klim products, but have read many good reviews.

I have no association with this vendor, but often Motorcyclegear.com ( used to be New Enough) will have some great pricing on First Gear stuff. I think they will ship international. They have a brown Ranier on sale for a little less than $250 US.

Hi Guillermo,

I have the Firstgear Kathmandu Jacket and HT Overpants. I live in New England and have done extended ridding down to 32 degrees F(of course w/ all liners And additional layers underneath). With almost 9k miles on so far since Aug 2011, am very happy keeping warm and dry. Also have been very flexible/comfortable w/ removable liners and vents mid-summer.

I Have had an issue w/ the pants; busted the front and side zippers, each on separate occasions! Both times the pants have been replaced/swapped for new without any questions, so that is good. Once at the store where originally purchased and anoteher by the company while on extended road trip. So I guess I'm getting value out of the 2-year warranty there. ;)

Best of luck w/ your choices.

Regards, dean ::001::

Last week I was in Charlotte and stopped by the Tri/BMW/Duc dealership there, and they were havind a closeout sale on a few of the Firstgear . I picked up a Firstgear Teton for $300.00!! ::015::

What a deal!

They also had a Klim Latitude there... no sale though. Certaintly the Klim is a nice piece of kit but not worth twice the price of the Teton to me.

The IMS show was in town so I visited and bought a few H-B saftery devices for the S10, skid plate, engine guard, headlight guard, kickstand foot. Got another nice deal, 10% show discount, free shipping, no sales tax! I'm one happy camper. ::016::

I'm back in Florida now and abpoiut to go for a linch ride.... it's about 78 f now!!!! bye bye.....

Regards, Paul

Well, after read your comments I started to search for another options. I´m not a homeless, but i hate to spend money needlessly, if I need to spend money for necessary things it´s all right, but not only to spend. Also spend around 2000 dollars for jacket and pants is a bit expensive to me.
Yesterday afternoon I was talking with a friend who bought many things in www.fc-moto.de and he told me about some products and prices, then I was looking at the website and can find (as I think) some good products.
I bought Revit products, jacket and pant with Gore-Tex and a pair of boots, all for a bit less than 800 dollars (international shipping and handling included). For me is a good option because here in Argentina is very difficult to find shoes or boots in my size (13) and if I think all equipment for this price is good.
Here I show the links to products
Jacket https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.sf/sec81c4c244bf/?ObjectPath=/Shops/10207048/Products/Revit-Nevada-Jacket-Gore-Tex/SubProducts/Revit-Nevada-Jacket-Gore-Tex-0001
Pants https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.sf/sec81c4c244bf/?ObjectPath=/Shops/10207048/Products/Revit-Legacy-GTX-Pant/SubProducts/Revit-Legacy-GTX-Pant-0001
boots https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.sf/sec81c4c244bf/?ObjectPath=/Shops/10207048/Products/Revit-Rival-Boots/SubProducts/Revit-Rival-Boots-0001
Thanks again for yours advices, was very improtant for me, because they opened my mind and found other options (brands, models, etc)

I never stoped to ride, although I look as a homeless with my old jacket and pants I wear always, but...... now I need to improve my look before the jacket and pant disapear burned under sun ray. I think 4 years wearing this suit is enough and is it amortized ::)

I agree about New Enough/Motorcycle Gear. Great folks to deal with. I've worn out quite a few things I've bought from them over the years and go back for more. I like the fact that they personally try the products, post info and pictures and give you "their two cents worth" about the gear. Picked up an Icon Patrol jacket in retina searing high vis yellow that I really like and Patrol gloves a couple of months ago from them. Winters are grey, wet and cold here in the Northwest, it's good solid gear. Switched from quite a few First Gear jackets and gloves. Currently I have and really like the First Gear HT over pants. They keep me warm and dry like the Icon gear.
