This is cheap insurance against damaged fork seals from dirt and grime getting under the seals. There are a number of available options to accomplish this but these were my favorite, not too large, good fit and effective.

Installation is as easy as wrapping them around the fork and pressing the Velcro in place. They also have loops at the top for a zip-tie but I didn't use them.

I ordered them direct from Kriega website for $25.

looks like it protects the dust seal, but how about exposure to the elements? Do you think they would be effective enough to keep them from leaking?

Mine will be here Monday.

I use something similar on my KTM and have not had a seal failure yet!

This is my first time using these but I have heard good things about them and similar ones. Leaking seals usually come from dirt and contaminants getting past the dust seal to the fork seals. These sweep the fork tube to keep the dust seals from getting dirt and grime built up on them. Time will tell how well they perform.

Thanks for posting that Devin. I've got a set of seal mates ($7) in case of leaks, but these look like good prophylactic treatment. I just got done with full fork jobs on my FJR and ST1300--I'd like to not do that again for a while. These look nice since can easily remove if wanting to change fork oil periodically.

+1, thanks Devin.....I rebuilt my forks on a Yamaha WR450F and used seal savers, but those you have to slip on the fork tubes which means some front fork disassembling :(

Yes, these are just wrapped and held with velcro. Easy to put on and take off for cleaning. I like em.

I sent them the $ cause I really hate doing fork seals - even the easy ones.

I found a less flashy version of this, in the Dennis Kirk catalog. Black, no logos, NOJ brand, $16.99. I was ordering some other stuff anyway, so I threw these in - save on shipping. And they'll get here quick; my Dennis Kirk orders always do.

For a good while here in the Pacific NW, I better have some snow shoes on the bike before the dirt riding can continue!!! It may be a few months for this. There are only a few low level dirt roads that won't be effected by the snow.
