It made me insanely nervous dealing from Craigslist, but the guy at the Harley dealer really went above and beyond. He looked the bike over and sent me pics confirming what the owner had sent me. I overnighted the check to him and he swapped the check for the bike with the owner. He also stored the bike for a few days until HaulBikes picked it up. Said it'd run $40 bucks for the storage which is a one month minimum. When it came time to pay him he wouldn't take any money. I told him that while Harley's aren't my thing, if that ever changes I'll try to buy from him!
You meet the nicest people on a Harley! :p:p:p

Thanks all for the help. I landed a bike about a month ago and have put 1k on it so far. 2014 ES with OEM Panniers, 7200 mi for $9700 private seller. I might've been able to bargain him a bit lower but I'm not much of a negotiator and the price was good enough compared to everything else I saw.

Replaced oil, cleaned injectors, measured oil to check for gas in it (I'll do this again soon), put on altrider bars, akrapovic and arrow headers along with a tune from 2WDW. Rides good so far, makes a lot of funny noises I'm still hunting down and tracks slightly left, which appears to be common.

I'd be worried if she stopped making those funny noises. She's not supposed to sound normal, and I love that.
I figure most are normal; there's a "whinney" from the front when engine braking that goes away when I pull the clutch in, and an unnatural rattle from the rear when engine braking hard that I need to track down. I also noticed I don't get any more cool runoff pops, but I do hear the intake pretty loudly when engine braking hard.

I have to admit, I don't pay that close attention to the individual noises. But, I did notice that the popping went away somewhere around that mileage. It takes about 5k miles to be truly broken in; you're just past that. "Party on dude."
