I bought my ST In August of 2021.
She was previously owned by one other gentleman who took care of her.

The fog lights were meant for a truck, and all of the wires were crammed and tucked in any spot possible.

( I do not like bright aftermarket headlights) the ones that were in the bike were just too bright and possibly draining the battery.

After reading so many informative threads on this forum, I was able to tare this bad girl down and remove all of the excess crap that was in her.
To include two extra power outlets which had the wires melted and fused together. The heated jacket wires which had a blown fuse.
The extra cables from the stock heated grip assembly that were just zip tied under the gas tank and not connected.
The extra 10ft of fog light wires.
So on and so on…

All of those accessories were draining the power out of the bike. At times the horn will sound dull. The GPS wouldn’t charge, and the heated grips weren’t getting hot enough. The bike’s idle would go below 1000rpm and I would have to hold a rev until the battery got some charge back in it, and the traffic light turned green.
I put 400 miles on her this last Saturday. Hit some dirt roads and some twisties…The bike felt way more responsive and all electronics worked perfectly.
I had no issues .
I wanted to share this little note with my fellow ST riders

“Sometimes less is more”

PO of my bike had installed a fake security system blinking led. It would flash when the bike was powered off. Enough of a drain I kept it connected to a trickle charger. Finally removed most of the circuitry, and I'm happier.
