has anyone besides me found that the standard power take off socket in the fairing seems to be of a cheap quality ? ... when i plug my gps into it , it keeps vibrating out ? ..ive tried several different types in it , but always with the same result ..they pop out after a few miles ...has anyone found a quick fix for this ?

I just ran a cable tie around the plug securing it in place. It's worked for a while now and I give my 10 a real hard time in the rough stuff.

I had USB adapter that would pop out, I just wound a little insulation tape around the body of it to make it a more snug fit, no problems after that

I noticed the taller plugs do wiggle out and lose contact. I periodically push them back in when I see the little light on them goes out.

The smaller accessory plugs (two port usb outlet) seems to stay put inside the outlet.

+1

I use the short versions also.

Be aware of how little amperage that plug can support before the fuse will blow. Newer phones take 1.5-2 amps (shown as 1500-2000 milliamps) and the plug is only good for something like 3.

My GPS is hard-wired to a power distribution block, there is an SAE pig-tail tucked in the fairing for the charger and compressor, and Powerlets under the seats for the heated jackets.
