Poll - Pick the date of the Romney, WV ride next spring

Romney Cycles is aware of the two proposed dates and they tell me either will work for them. Let's try to firm up a date. Off the top of my head here are a few of the pros/cons of each.

May 3-5
Pro: Early spring, may be less conflicting with upcoming warm weather plans. Day temps cool but comfortable.
Con: Early spring, could possibly get chilly. Snow is very rare, but not impossible.

May 24-26
Pro: Warmer weather. Snow definitely not a risk.
Con: Very close to vacation/long ride season. Increasing conflicts with other rides.

I'm in for both dates. Please pick your dates. The final ride date will be based on whichever one allows the most riders to attend.

Once we sort out the date I'll confirm with Romney Cycles then I start the thread for the event. That will also be here in the Event section. So like coastie said, just keep an eye on this section and you'll know.

I think the voting is pretty clear. I sent Romney Cycles the date this evening. Once they confirm both the date and their intentions I'll post the official thread.

Dirt Dad, FWIW I didn't vote in the poll. I'm fine with what is best for the group.


It is hard to explain the depth of the disease to folks not afflicted with dreaded spring gobbler fever. By way of analogy, how well would you fare w/o your dirt toys? Yes, unfathomable describes it. Fast closing in on nearly 50 turkey seasons, I pull the trigger less and less as the years pass. I'll surely be out there attempting to harass birds, or just as likely being completely ignored by the fickle so and sos...it is simply pure fun as defined from my side of the mountain.
