Probably a basic question, but I thought I'd ask none the less. I wired in an accessory socket under the seat to an eastern beaver with a 10amp fuse primarily to power an Airman Sparrow compressor. I recently bought a Rocky Creek compressor which comes with SAE connections. I'm thinking rather than get rid of the accessory socket, splice the wire and connect the SAE to the same lead. I would obviously only use one at a time, but is there anything you guys think I should take into consideration? I'm good at wiring stuff in, but am pretty clueless regarding current/draw/ampage etc.

The math required is pretty straightforward, as it follows Ohm's law, which I've always remembered as PIE, that is Power (Watts) equals Intensity (Amps) times Electromotive Force (Volts): P=IxE. Since most accessories specify power draw in Watts (especially lights), take that number and divide by 12 (nominal voltage) to figure out how many amps it draws. For example, a 10 watt LED will draw 0.833333 amps at 12 volts.

Since you already have an accessory socket (I'm assuming a standard 12v cigarette lighter style), you can find adapters to convert to SAE, like this one: https://www.batterystuff.com/battery-cables-connectors-plugs/BTLighterA081-0069-5.html?gclid=COWridnT_tQCFYZffgodTk0Jqw
