As the subject states, picking up a '14 non-ES tomorrow. I've owned many bikes (dirt and street) and had a few new ones. Anything to look for in particular when I'm looking the bike over? Not sure how much set up is involved on these.
Thanks

Front wheel axle and pinch bolts, abs sensor bolts front and rear, front brake caliper bolts, handlebar bolts, steering head nut, and maybe spokes. Oh yeah, tire pressure. :)

rubber plug on the inner right hand side of swing arm.

I'm not kidding. they are not glued in and fall out shortly after ownership..which causes the main drive seal to go.
ask me how I know.

Check front calipers! My lovely dealer sent me out with right caliper bolts sticking out. Pretty much anything that is assembled by the dealer CHECK!!

Handlebars, Windshield, make sure the right side panel quarter turns are fastened properly.

Use T mode in the beginning.

Adjust your smile ;D

All good comments thus far. Owners Manual.....walk if they don't provide it...or at least threaten too.

The three locks under the seat as mentioned.

Tire pressure. My bike was a little low after I checked when I got home.

....and, make sure the black plastic seat adjuster is under the seat! I actually saw a new one without it. Very important option and a must to have.

Good luck!

Flick the front brake a couple times. My steering stem bearings were slightly loose when I picked up mine forever ago. It would pop or click, you could tell something was up.
