ADV Motorrad is happy to announce the second (of many!) new products by DS Bike Protection for the Super Tenere. For those of you running the Yamaha/PIAA auxiliary lights (Yamaha part # 23P-854A3-00-00), we've got an inexpensive way to protect them from harm on the road or trail. These guards are designed specifically to work with the Yamaha/PIAA lights and are laser-cut and formed from 1.5mm aluminium. Available in black and sold as a pair for $59.99. I don't have them up on the website just yet, but should have them posted by tomorrow....and I have five sets in black that should arrive no later than Thursday 1/10. :D

And for those wondering - these are the lights that the guards are designed to protect, Yamaha OEM part number 23P-854A3-00-00. I had originally thought these were designed for the PIAA LP530 LED light kit, but after digging into it further, realized they used the PIAA OEM kit with the part number above to design the guards, not the LP530 kit.

Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks again!

Hey Jason

My Piaa lights are position under the headlights. Do think the light guard would work with this setup?

Hey Kevin - that's correct, you should be able to use either mount position with these guards. They will still wrap around the sides and bottom, just the top end will be exposed due to the different mount.

Any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

I did not see this item on your website ADV Motorrad. Do have a link, I thinking of picking one of these up.

Hey Kevin - haven't even had a chance to post them on the webstore yet! I've got to get the last of the Holan pannier shipments out the door this afternoon, then will get these up on the site tonight. As soon as they're active, I'll put in hyperlinks in the original thread to take you right there.

Thanks!

Hi guys - no problem sending these to Slovenia or the UK! The webstore supports international orders and shipping, and can provide you with a quote once you add the product to your shopping cart page.

Any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Jason, thanks for your help and for offering to ship them to the UK.

For the benefit of members in Europe, they can be obtained from the manufacturer DS Bike Protection in Spain but currently if you order them from their website http://www.dsbikeprotection.com/ it will cost a fortune to ship them. UK delivery is 30 Euros! I have emailed them to ask them for a more sensible offer but it is actually cheaper to order from ADV Motorrad at the moment as long as you can wait for USPS. I'll keep you posted :)

Thanks Steve! Just a heads-up...I talked with Sisco (owner of DSBP) earlier today and he's having some issues with email and accessibility to his website. Not sure if it's a hosting provider issue or what, but he can see 90 unread emails that he can't open. ???

If his response time is a bit delayed and you need to ping him urgently, feel free to hit me up and I'll pass the message along the next time I speak with him.

Thanks Jason, I have now been in touch with Sisco and he has reduced the shipping to 18 Euros (about £15) so much more reasonable. I ordered a black set yesterday for 60.75 Euros delivered (£51). Looking forward to getting them early next week :)

Just got 5 sets of the light guards in stock! One set is already earmarked to ship out with a S10 Raid toolbox, but I've got 4 sets left on this order that can ship immediately. All the guards I received in this order are black, but I've asked DSBP if they have some in natural/aluminum to include those in the next order.

Thanks!

Guys, just a point of clarity...the PIAA auxiliary light guards are designed to work with the Yamaha kit # 23P-854A3-00-00, not the LP530 LED kit as originally thought. The LP530 lights are a few millimeters bigger than the Yamaha/PIAA OEM lights and so won't fit up optimally. I've updated the original post and my webstore description, and am following up with the individual that purchased them for their LP530 kit to get it corrected.

If you have the aforementioned Yamaha OEM kit, the guards will work great. I've got 4 sets currently in stock, and a few more on the way if interested.

Thanks!

Hi DaFoole - I'm going to talk with DSBP mid next month (they're off on holidays) about getting a set of LP530s locally to trial fit. I'd definitely like to have a set of guards for that light kit, since it seems like that's the option Yamaha USA went with versus the PIAA kit sold in Europe and Canada. I don't think it will be much of a change...the LP530 is about 4mm larger in diameter than the OEM kit, so might just have to widen it a bit and play with spacers for a good fit.

I'll keep you posted once I hear more.

Thanks!
