Hi guys I have a 2012 Super Tenere in white which is in my opinion the best colour.
One of the Piaa light attached to my front bar has started to fill with water.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to realise this water or are the light units factory sealed.
Cheers Steve

The knurled lens edge looks like they're meant to be unscrewed.

Don the knurled bit is actually on the inside of the lens so I don't think it meant to be removed. There are some slots in the side that look like if you put a flat head screwdriver in the fronts might pop off but I don't want to damage them if that's not the case.
The thing is my bike has only got 2000 miles on and there filling with water.

Best thing is to contact PIAA and let them know of your issue and how best to resolve it, stating how old and the mileage of the bike. Don't break anything, in case they want to send you a replacement FOC.

This was my reply from Piaa in the Uk. so still no wiser.
You will need to check with Yamaha as we do not handle any of the light units that Yamaha fit, they are supplied by PIAA USA.

Steve H,
what I had on my 2012 is not the same as what I have on my 2015,
so I cannot say if this is a completely sealed unit, Piaa should at least be able to answer that for you...

I would remove the mounting screws [2] one on each side, completely and turning the light sideways to see if the water will come out...

just off the spec sheet, this is an actual hole into the chamber of the unit...
at the very least, you may find where the water is getting in and find a solution to prevent it from reoccurring...

let us know what you fine when you're done.....

I have already reassembled the unit and put a new bulb in There is a large O ring between the two halves that should seal the whole think and I have just replaced that at present. I will however keep my eye on it to se if there is any more water getting in and if it does I will then reseal it with some silicone. The amount of water the heavens drop in sunny old Yorkshire these day I wont have to wait long.
Cheers Steve
