I got some PIAA L Bracket swivel clamps for 1" bars

As we already know.. the bike is not symmetric and neither are the bars. Sure wish altrider had added some light tabs..

Anyway, you'd think with the adjustability of the clamps and the many ways you can pivot the 910s that you could get them even on the bike. I struggled with just the right orientation and angle and I'm close but they still have a bit of an angle to them.

As for the lighting, the 910s have a great reputation and I've used them in the past.. they'll burn the forest down in front of you... but, being spots, they are very sensitive to being pointed the right direction to be useful. I'm sure mine are pointed too low at the moment but I'll try for some adjustments when I can find some time to get out of the city and find a nice dark straight road.

Is it me, or does it look like your PIAA's will hit before your crash bars in a tip-over?

They'll probably touch but shouldn't break. I could move them towards the front more but I wanted to make sure I didn't mess up the airflow going into the radiator..

Actually.. LOL.. my bags will touch first.
Followed by the lights and lastly the crashbars............

Somehow, that does not seem right to me.

:D

But I do share your appreciation for the 910's. I had them on two or three of my ST1100's.

Nice looking set up. Are up happy with the Altrider bars? Don't have my bike yet but I'm already shopping around for stuff. Helps in keeping me somewhat sane while waiting to get the Tenere....

I like the crashbars. There are others and they all seem to have some positives/negatives.. I just wish they had light tabs but none of them do except maybe the H&B ones.

It has been a long time since I ran 910's. I remember them fondly, but also remember their big draw electrically

Does the Tenere have enough spare wattage to run the 910's, heated grips and an electric jacket ?

They're 85w each but the S10 has enough to handle that and heated gear with enough to spare.

They're like some of those high powered hand held spots, the trick is getting them aimed just right as they have a long distance so you can find yourself lighting up the trees LOL

The S10 headlight / high beam isn't bad but these are for those treks down deserted areas that are pitch black.

They look good !

I feel you on riding in remote areas. I have SolTec HID on my FJR. Turn night, to day with those flame throwers. Saved my butt twice because I could see so far out ahead...

Mellow, what paint brand did you use for your bags? Did you use flat, semi or what for them? I am thinking of doing that for the Yammie bags. Nice looking light set-up.

Here's the thread I made:
http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=1414

Page 2 has the truck bed coating I used. There's also some underbody coating I was thinking of that might have a more soft-rubber feel but I'm happy with the truck bed coating at the moment, it's held up well.
