I just sent in my seat today to Rich's here in Washington. They are going to be installing a Gel insert, with a tailbone groove installed into the middle of it. I experienced too much coccyx pressure on a simple 240 miles last saturday to be comfortable. The seat should be done in a week or so by the time I get home from my Alaskan Cruise. Then my trek to YellowSTone should be a test of riding on Gel!!! Report to come in a few weeks!!!

best of luck with the rebuild. I was in the same shape, had to have my seat done. There are no really good seat makers here on the East coast, so it's a while to ship there and back. I should have mine back in a couple of weeks hopefully.

Sure can't agree with ya there...http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php and in your backyard. Perhaps not a maker, but the gentleman sure has a way with rebuilding 'em.
seen them, sat on them, sorry, in my humble opinion not even close. I am really fussy on seats, and the only seat I have ever had that hit the mark completely is RDL. Others have had other experiences I know, I just haven't had the same.

Nope agreed, definitely ain't no Day Long, but I used to ride a KLR and still ride a Versys, so I can't shake that price point mentality...Spencer's fixes not too shabby for the $.

about $550.00 shipped for a solo. While it's not cheap, I feel the whole bike is built from the seat up. If I got nothing else for my bike, I think a seat is the most important. I would ride with junk luggage and no farkles instead of a bad seat. I feel this bike should have a better stock seat being it's intended use of adv touring. But some folks feel the seat is not that bad.

I took a knife to mine, cut out about a 1/4 inch section, then cut some back armor from an older jacket to the same shape then put it back together. I like the Sargent seat on my ST1300 and it's nice and firm. The S10 seat is just too squishy... anyway, not a perfect solution but it seems to have helped some. I'll try to hit the road tomorrow and see how it feels after 400 miles.
