Ordered Raven about a week ago in Central WA. Any other people here from the Pacific NW? The dealer I have ordered mine from has 3 on order.

Don't worry HoebSTer, you're doing your part. Some things take a little time I guess.

You'll probably meet some at the IMS show this weekend......they'll be hovering around the Tenere. Or harassing the folks at the BMW booth, inquiring about the whale-foreskin lined adventure suit...

in all my years going to the IMS show here and in Cleveland, OH i haven't stepped into either BMW booth, or Harley. Both are to me worthless!!! I know more about Harley's than most people and was born and raised around them from my father.

I have stopped into three dealers this week away from my normal close to my house dealers throughout Washington. North of Seattle, the dealer has 5 SUper Ten's on order, the dealer in Central WA has 2 of them, then there is the dealer where I got mine ordered from that has mine, the owner of the dealer's, and his mechanic. Now all of these people can start to show up any time now.

Markjenn, it looks as if it's still just you and me brother here in the state!!!

What does M.Vly mean? I meant Mark and I are alone for those who have the Super Ten on order so far. I know there are others here, but it will be nice to get together with fellow ST Owners. FOr me, it has been an interest for the groups where the bikes are the same. Well, at least I have interacted more with like bikes. Again, for me i don't really go much for conversation about bashing one bike or another, or this is better, that is better, it doesn't have this suspension, or the valve adjustments cost too much......blah, blah, blah. I get the impression when this happens that people are always thinking differently, rather than talking to someone on the same page....cuz they have the same bike. I can't ask you how your bike compares to mine since it is a DR instead of an S10, or hey does your S10 make X noise at this speed, so on so forth!!! Sorry about this, I am just mumbling.
I didn't like a certain group years ago where there were a mix of SPort-Touring bikes. When it was time to show up for a day ride, the groups of VFR or Super-Hawk guys were in one group, then the ST1100's were in another and it seemed on several occasions this would create an accident after someone thought they could ride with the VFR's when they were riding almost triple digits in the corners, causing wreckless behavior. The ride to me always seemed smoother when everyone had the same bikes, then broken down into smaller groups for those who could ride faster or slower, but all with the same bikes!!! I think it sometimes reduces pressures to ride into areas where my bike can or can't handle in a safe manner.

Stanwood, Washington...put a raven-color on order (well, blue, but my mind was changed by wife and son) from Skagit Powersports, during the recent party they had. Buddy of mine got one on order that night, also.

Really really looking forward to adventure riding. Was at Rally in the Gorge last summer and had to keep turning my 1098 around at the end of the paved roads. Good news is the good price on the Yamaha allows me to keeo it for track days.

Got to see Alt Rider's prototype crash bars and skid plate at the IMS this afternoon. Crash bars are better design than Yamaha's, offering extended side protection around the tank and radiator. The skid plate is beefier, 4.75 mm, and conforms nicely and offers superior protection, also. The gal I talked to at the booth said pricing should be set in January. They are needing to redesign the skid plate to allow full front wheel travel.

Rushmonger, welcome to the list. I was just up to skagit and mentioned this forum to the guys that had placed the order that night. Welcome!!! I am here in Issaquah, and Markjenn is in Bellevue. I ordered mine through Cle Elum. We will have to get some people together for a ride next summer. It is always fun, as I have ridden with alot of VSTrom guys from the greater SEattle area past couple of years.

Hey, just want to make sure you have placed your location on the map here if possible.

Later

Jeff

Jeff,

I just moved from the Seattle area about 3 years ago and currently live in Utah. I read that people were getting deals on the S10 and shopped around the Salt Lake Area for weeks with no success. I was surfing Cycle Trader and found an ad that required a call for price. It was the Yamaha dealer out of Moses Lake, WA, who dropped the price $1,500. Needless to say, I now have one on order with them even though I haven't sat on one. When I bought my two V-Stroms (2005), in Seattle, they wouldn't knock a dollar off the MSRP, must be a tough economy. I have read in a few places that bike sales are waaayyy down.

Bugsy, I have stopped at most dealers in Seattle area. They are at MSRP mostly. I-90 Powersports in Issaquah doesn't care to sell Yamaha, rather they want to move the high margin KTM and Triumphs. I ordered mine through Cle Elum at a good price. True, the Seattle area dealers don't care who is buying the bike, they cae about the punk kids on crotch rockets.

Next time i am in Salt Lake for work I will have to look you up.
