Do an internet search for those grips and see what you find.
I did a few months ago when I was shopping for farkles and I found a lot of complaints.

I have no info on the Oxford heated grips.

However, Show Chrome markets a very similar style grip and controller (it is now an electric LED type whereas it used to be an analog dial) which works well on my Goldwing.

http://www.symtec-inc.com/MOTORCYCLE-PRODUCTS_c_2.html] http://www.symtec-inc.com/MOTORCYCLE-PRODUCTS_c_2.html markets the "flyswatter style" grips which mount UNDER any grip of your choosing. They dont get as hot as the Show Chrome units IMO, but for around $40 you cant beat them. If you really have a favorite grip and wish to stay with it, its the only way to go. Symtec also does other grip models which may well be adapted.

Sorry, didnt mean to change the thread focus...just trying to pass info along.

I installed the Oxfords on my wife's Spyder. Nice kit, they feel sturdy and high quality. Easy install. The few times she has used them they've worked great. The four settings seem to be enough choices.

I would have installed them on my S10, but decided I wanted a grip that would be the full length of the throttle tube. That left me with a choice of OEM or Symtech under the stock grip. I did the Symtech. But if the shorter length doesn't bother you the Oxfords are very nice.

Dirt Dad, Did you have to destroy your grips to get them off? Or could you use them again?

I did the Symtec option with the Warm and Safe heat troller. Was able to reuse the stock grips. I was initially reluctant to go this way but it was a very clean install, the digital heat troller uses less power than other options, and you can use your choice of grips. Would do it again and may do it to my other bikes. ~$85 for the whole setup.

If you don't care about variable heat, the Symtec wraps have 2 separate circuits, one high and one low, and they do not use a resister (can get a nice panel switch as well if you order the right kit). For ~ $40 shipped they are the bargain of the century.

Nope, still using the factory grips. I did take a small gauge metal stick, inserted it in between the the grip and the bars, bent the stick into a handle and rotated it around the bars one time. That unstuck all the glue. Then used my air compressor to blow them off. Was shockingly easy and non-destructive of the grips.

I used the metal stick from a small marker flag used to temporarily identify where power lines run underground.

I stuck the nozzle of my air compressor under my stock grips....basically they inflated enough to pull away from the glue. it took about 20 seconds to have each grip removed.....installed the symtecs and reinstalled the grip with epoxy as I have on 4 other bikes. no problem. I use the flat rocker switch drilling into the plastic up off the side of the instrument cluster ont he flat back plastic piece...

Thats a trick I learned 30+ years ago...and still works today! Just put the tip of a air nozzle between the grip and the handlebar and POP...off it comes.

Had the older style Oxfords on my wattage challenged KLR. They worked fine as long as you kept the rpm's up. Should be fine with the S10, but think I'll go with the symtec heaters on my bike. Have them on my wr and the low/high setting is enough. I'll choose the metal toggle switch this time though. The round rocker switch is harder to use for me.

Got the oxfords on mine. The controller mounts quite nicely on the brake m/c clamp so easy to access with right hand . Only gripe sofar was wiring it back to an ignition controlled feed meant the connectors got a little pulled at the headstock and one came undone. It's a small din/mouse port like connector and easy to misalign and bend pins . Sorted it with slightly better cable runs and cable ties.

I have put these on several of my bikes and love 'em, put them right over the OEM grips; http://www.dual-star.com/index2/Rider/heated_grip_kit1.htm

Then I put on grip puppies over top, especially since I like the grips to be a bit more beefy; http://www.casporttouring.com/store/merchant.mvc?

And finally, I wanted the switch to be on the handlebar and not to drill another hole so I got the switch from here; http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Switches/switches.html It is the second switch down, Bar Mount Lighting Switch with Kill/Horn Button (5A)

I used the Symtec over grip and under grip puppies method on my Vee. Worked great and heated up much faster than most any other configuration and needs less power.

How long are the grips? Same as stock or shorter? Does your have the round temperature controller?
Hope I remember this right, I'm in Kentucky right now and the bike is in Ga. The size is the same the only mod I had to do was cut the ends out for the bar ends and some duct tape on the left side to build up so grip would well grip. Yeah I has the rotary adjustment that I mounted on the left bar. Will post pics and report when I get home.

Just ordered the Symtecs...I've had them on several bikes over the years and they work great.

I plan on using a Centech fuse panel and relay, with power for the grips coming from the front turnsignal running light circuit so it is switched via the ignition.

Will replace the stock grips with Pro Grip gels for better feel.

Here's a link showing a nice, sano installation for the toggle into the existing handlebar switch housing:
