Looking for comments on their crash bars only.
They look very sturdy and they have an interesting test video.
Are the panel's removable with these and what's first impression on craftsman ship?

Can't say about the S10 but I had their full setups on both my V Stroms, crash bars, skid plate and center stand and love them. Always have great protection after many many drops off road never had any major damage to anything, couple scrapes from small stuff no bars can stop. The first set I got was put through the ringer by postal service, the owner of the company answered the phone at 8pm est. Took care of it and personally and called me on the day the new parts arrived to make sure everything was good. They are the first place I check for fitment for what I'm riding. Had a very similar experience with seahorse case and the same level of customer service.

I was waiting for them to be ready, they were supposed to be in by Jan but weren't ready by May so I went with the TRex system. Very happy with it, looks very beefy and offers more protection although there have been a few issues with fit and finish.

I recently bough both the crash bars and the pannier rack. They are robust without being overly heavy. I replaced thier hardware with stainless bolts my preference not nessisary.
If you have or plan to use Arrow headers the crash bar will NOT fit with out modifcation. I ground away a portion of the lower mounting tube and am in the process of tig welding a small piece of 14 guage mild steel to cover the open tube. This has weakened the origanal design slightly but still stronger than the other manufacted one I tore off hitting a deer.

I also went with the T-Rex Racing crash bars and skid plate on my 2016 S10 ES, and am extremely pleased with them. And the side panels AND battery ARE removable without messing with the bars. And I really like the fact that I can get to my oil filter to change it by removing just 2 countersunk head allen screws.

I have a similar one from Givi (I think), only had 2 problems with it. I didn't know that the grab bars on the S10 were fastened with a locking hex so had to run back to the parts store to get a specific driver for that. Also, I had issues getting the part off by the exhaust pipe, basically had to go back to the parts store (yes again) and get a ball hex wrench to get it off. Mine also had some spacers in it but I don't remember off the top of my head where they go. The first time I put it on took me about 45 minutes (not including the parts store trips), second time took about 20 minutes, next time will probably be in the 15 minute timeframe so it really is as simple and they point out.
I think I like this one better than the one I have, mine has some rubber mounts on it that makes it look odd.

Is it confirmed that these bars will not work with the Arrow headers. I really fancied both mods rather than the AltRider ones.

I really like how these look when installed. T-Rex is one of the suppliers that I have been looking at.

I just finished I installing the engine protection package from Outback on my '18 S10 and was very impressed with the quality. Not looking forward to the next drop, but not afraid of it either. Quick note on the skid plate, it is a fully welded 5mm solid aluminum shield. Outback should focus on this, because it it the most solid item on the bike. A true BASH plate.
I ordered this item after seeing it on this forum, and ordered their pannier racks the day I received the guards and saw the quality.

Don't be offended, 'cuz I too have an aluminum plate, but, aluminum is not steel. Mine too is a solid piece, but I have no delusions that if I drop 900lbs of bike/rider on a hazard, my aluminum plate is not going to hold up. For me, and maybe you too, aluminum is "good enough". I don't plan on hardcore off-roading. . . . just gravel, rocks, and curbs; no boulders. But if you do. . . . an upgrade may be needed. Good luck.

By far the very best plate for the Super Tenere is the one Jaxon "Tabasco" fabricates. It's pricey but you get what you pay for. I was on a tight budget when I was purchasing a plate and settled for the AltRider. It's been banged out more than once. All it would take is one good hit in the rocks to rip the plate off and punch a hole in the oil pan.

I'm here to tell you that I've personally lodged my Strom on a rock to the point I was almost thrown off the bike and it teeter tottered on the outback skid plate. I was moving looking down trail and missed how big it was doing at least 10-15mph when I hit it. Plate was fine took some powder coating off but that was it didn't even have to beat it out as I thought I would. Their stuff is no joke. Now if your going to do that everyday then yes steel is the way to go but if that's not your daily routine that bash plate will hold up for a long time.
