Not so, both models come standard with CC.

If the 2015 ES does NOT have cruise control, I am walking away from my trade-in deal. period.
Please confirm this.
I must have it or Im keeping my 2012.

Where do people come up with this? Just go to the manufacturer's site. ::)

The USA versions of BOTH Tenere trim levels definitely have cruise, per the following from the Yamaha Motor Sports site. The red is not the only color either.
ES:

non-ES

I really dig the non-ES color scheme, but replacing my 2012 is not in the budget, plus I would want the ES model...

I think the OP was referring specifically to the ES model, which does come only in red for 2015.

Yes, I read through it, it has cruise control.
I even saw it on a 2014 model in the showroom.
I got to have cruise, my wrist just has too many miles on it.

COLOR 2015. The new Silver/Blue I saw at the Bike Show was different than the one in the pic above. It had BLUE wheels, Blue forks also. Kind of gaudy looking.

I'm glad to be wrong about the cruise control on the 2015. The Yamaha sales guy told me this at the Motorcycle show in Washington DC last weekend. I thought it was strange. The cruise control is a definite plus and works great on my bike. The sales guy also said there is a waiting list to buy the 2015. That probably isn't true either.
There was a great display of the 1200 motor with cut aways to see inside the motor.

My wife works for one of the contractors that does IMS events, (BMW in her case). Most of the show people in factory shirts do not work for that OEM or even a local dealer, but are just people hired to do the shows, man the booths and show off the products. They typically get fliers and bike info and study that so they can answer questions, but you don't always get the right answers, depending on their experience. My wife told someone during her first show that the BMW K1600GTL had powered reverse, (hey, it's a big pig of a touring bike, why wouldn't it have reverse?). She's had two Goldwings and just assumed BMW's top of the line touring bike would have it, but it doesn't. :D opps!

Not an unreasonable assumption on the part of your wife. Seeing the bulk of the K1600GTL, I would have thought the same. ::008::

I was at the DC show also, with my son and two friends. We learned a long time ago to chat up the people at the booths to see where they are from, largely out of our own curiosity. The major bike manufacturers typically have only one or two direct employees at any show and the majority are salespeople from local dealerships and probably the local regional rep or two.

As EricV wrote, we found that the pretty girls are generally professional trade show models who are given packages of materials to study. Some travel with the show (especially for the car mfgs), but we've also talked to women who will next work at the DC car show, some other trade shows, and then the Annapolis boat shows. The ones who work for the bigger manufacturers have generally been pretty smart pros at this, as opposed to some of dumb local eye candy working at the little booths.
