Has anyone tried the Ohlins 30mm cartridge kit? Similar price to the YA013 shock, would like some feedback on it.

Sure. I was the one who worked with Ohlins for six months to have them built for the Tenere. I have the first set, and have been on them for the last several years. They have transformed the bike and allow me to ride my Tenere like a 450 off road. Amazing. Let me know what your specific questions are and I'll tell you why my opinions are.
The forks have tons adjustability and have worked great in all all situations !

Thanks for the feedback Jaxon, I wasn't sure if this was the same kit that you had helped develop.

Are you also using an Ohlins rear shock? If it holds up to your riding I'm sure it'd be fine for my mostly onroad usage.

I have a set also...FKA 106....really are worth the expense, as I'm a big guy and was at my wits end with the stocker. Different bike....I did have to have heavier springs wound for me, as the springs in the kit were too light. I swapped them even up. Worth it IMO...

Yes, I have front and rear Ohlins. I beat on it pretty hard off road and even high speed off road. No problems at all.

I assume any Ohlins dealer would be able to get 'em....FKA 106. I know when I ordered mine, they came directly from Sweden, took a week or two and there were not too many available then, less than 10 were in stock I was told. I don't think the demand is too great.

I had this set up from Jaxon on my 2012, and liked it so much that I moved the Ohlins front kit and rear shock to my 2014 two days after buying the bike.

Best,

Chris

May be cheaper for UK owners to buy from the States, even with shipping at 20 import tax as I suspect if their $1,000 dollars in the US they will be £1,000+ in the UK (About $1500)

I had Thermosman http://www.thermosman.com/ aka Mike Fitzgerald revalve my stock forks and being I only weigh 140 lbs the stock fork springs work fine for me. Completely transformed the bike. No more harsh compression and inadequate rebound feel up front. I already had the Penske rear shock and I had him service it and add an oversize main shaft with a better designed seal to eliminate leakage issues I had experienced twice in the past 14k miles with the stock Penske design.

The forks set me back $350 and the best money I have spent so far on the bike. Mike is a suspension wizard to us road race guys and he tunes a bike like no other. Highly recommended unless you just gotta have the ubber expensive Ohlins stuff and he does that too.
