Took an off road nap last weekend and was sure glad to have spent money on protection parts for the Tenere rather than on repair parts ;D. The ride was in central PA with a group from ADV with off road options (rocky). Seems I had the only Tenere not scared of dirt. A few guys didn't bring theirs and the other one that was there wasn't prepped to take the risk.

I basically picked the wrong line… got into a wide downhill rut and ahead of me was a big rock which I chose to avoid by laying it over rather than going over the bars.

Givi crash bars did their job, the HB hardware did too. Water pump would have been trashed and I expect the pipe would have been crinkled ???

I use rustoleum semi-gloss black paint. From more then 2' away, you will never know the scratches are there. And rust protection!
