I believe Yamaha knew that people would load it "pack mule" style, and that is why they used steel instead of aluminum. Steel is heavier, but more forgiving in many cases. And, I haven't read where any of the guys that rode a gazillion miles on the Tenere ever broke a drive shaft. I broke two on an RT1150, and that was city driving.

Seriously?

You came home from work to find a 2017 GSA with a bow on it?

Well, happy whatever day this is for you!!!

As for you making comparisons.........I realize nothing is up to me, but I'd actually prefer to wait on any analysis until the emotional intoxication period is over. Lol
Ahhhhh, that new bike drug can be powerful. And that's not just any new bike!

Congratulations!

My wife got me a really expensive present once too....it was called a divorce. It actually cost more than the GS, and wasn't nearly as fun.

Spousal Unit just surprised me with the gift of a 2017 R1200GS Adventure. Still have the Tenere, so let the comparison begin.
Spousal Unit? Where can I get a robot like that? My old school "flesh and blood" model is more likely to surprise me with a slap to the head.

Congrats.

Congratulations - Whatever the reason!

As with RC, my divorce was much more expensive too. But totally worth every penny.
