OEM TOP CASE HELP!

Hello Guys, someone stole my OEM top case (probably thought it was a mechanic box).
But anyway i need your help! I bought a new oem box from yamaha, got it kind of cheap.
The problem is i am trying to install the spare locks that came with the box and following the instructions and it wont seem to work.
the hook that keeps the top lid wont move around. Moving the key anywhere keeps it in place.
Anyone experience an issue like this? thanks!

From the factory they come with a small Phillips head screw that holds the hook in place so that it is easier to install the lock cylinder. You need to remove it.

I did remove it and it takes the hook from being on the right to the middle, when i turn the key to either side it doesnt engage the hook, no movement. hmm!
