OEM tall windscreen backordered until Mid-June? WTF

Luckily, the factory screen all the way up is working ok, My dealer said the backorder is from Yamaha and its going to be awhile.
I know the '14/15's are popular but this is a little strange.
Perhaps I could get a refund and easily find one elsewhere?
Anyone know whats up with this or have the same problem?

I knew it was backordered and did not get it before going to Romney a month ago. Was walking their showroom and ended up at parts. Asked if they had one. They DID and not only gave me a discount for the event, they shipped my stock home free!

Romney is a class act.

I bought one on Amazon for my 2014 a week or so ago, last one they had. I seen one on ebay also but, looks like it's gone. Shipping was more so, I got the one on Amazon. I was told first of July by some dealers. Glad I got one. Need to install and try it out now...this week.

Tim, I added the MRA X Creen Tour to my OEM 2014 screen and it has worked very well for me. I got the bolt on version, but they also offer a clamp on model. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/mra-x-creen-add-on-variable-windscreen-spoiler-blade-bolt-on

Very nice Fred. I have never been a fan of the add-on windshields. I should be getting the oem wind wings this next week and hope this will help. Will keep looking for a one piece windshild that is not too tall.

After I get back from this three day trip I will buy new windshield bolts so I can experiment with spacing the top of the stock windshield forward. This usually makes a difference but how much is the question for the 2015.

I have three windshields for the 2012-13 and would like to sell/get rid of them.
- Stock
- OEM Tall
- Pyramid Medium (21.25" tall)

I waited five weeks for a Givi 2119ST to arrive. It arrived today and with my first short ride I think it was exactly what I was looking for. The buffeting is gone and I don't need ear plugs anymore. I will know more tomorrow after a longer ride but I don't think I made a mistake with this one.

That place is just a few miles from my house. It's a great small business shop and are always super to deal with.

You need to remove the accessory bar etc for that to fit, yes?

GIVI advertises that the windshield is 22.2" tall. The stock windshield is 17.75" tall. Equals 4.45" difference. The difference between the Low and High positions is 2.25". There seems to be 2.20" missing.

Can you measure the height of the GIVI windshield? Wonder if the GIVI windshield lower or longer from the lower bolt holes than the Yamaha windshield?

Tomatocity, your measurements are correct. I should restate the above as the above comment. Until I measured it, I felt they matched but you are correct.

This is a sad attempt at this but I tried to take a pic of the original over the Givi.

It's a keeper! I put 350 miles on yesterday. Everything from Highway to forest roads. I set it to each of the four settings to get a feel for it. For me, I like the second from the bottom adjustment for my riding. All the way up and I am looking through it and I don't care for that.

As for the garage door rope: ::021:: LOL!!!!!

you'll be lookin through it with one eye if ya don't tend to that rope... LMAO!
