I did a little ride last night and as I recall reading somewhere about the OEM halogen headlights.
Agree, they are very poor indeed!!
I have placed three LED lights on my bike and am very pleased that I did.
Technically, now I have "one too many", er lights that is.
I'm in the process of aiming the LEDs.
They appeared a little cross-eyed in the dark.
The purpose of the additional LEDs is for recognition during daylight hours as I will use them primarily for daytime running lights as an additional measure of safety.
I'll try a picture to illustrate my arrangement

Have you aimed the headlights? Its very common for them to come adjusted too high. The skinny Japanese kid that aims them weighs about 110 lbs, near as we can tell. Anyone heavier tends to see the trees well until they adjust the headlights.

Hmmmm, didn't think of that
I'm 90 kg (200 lbs) in full gear
It appears that the OEM headlights are aimed properly.
Are the adjustment screws located on the front outside of the headlights??
I see 4 allen bolts, one at each corner of the lights??
I think I have everything aimed now, will find out on my next jaunt at night.
Here's a picture of the allen bolts I'm referring to.

Maybe I have something to do with, what we are used to.....I previous had a TransAlp from 2006, and this is clearly a bettet light.

Those four allen bolts are for removing the headlight assembly trim, under which you will find the four bolts for removing the headlight assembly. No, those are not for adjusting the headlight beams. The adjustment bolts are on the back of the headlight and can be accessed either with a hex head 8mm or from under the nose with a phillips screwdriver. Your owner's manual will have pictures and instructions on which way to turn for what direction of movement.

Ha, thank you Eric, greatly appreciated.
I had checked those allen screws on the front of the headlights and found them to be a little loose, and thought that maybe I had inadvertently adjusted the headlights...now if I have to make an adjustment then I shall refer to my owners manuel.
Thanks again

I'm with you. BUT, they must be aimed almost perfect. That is the problem with projection headlights. They're more like a pencil beam as opposed to the old flood style. They are much more finicky. Even suspension adjustment(s) can affect their illumination quality.

You sure got that right! I had a heck of a time adjusting mine. I settled for the high beams pointed a little high and low beams a little low. Good news is the LED bulbs are a nice upgrade that have more distance and coverage.

In stock form the low beams are adjusted pretty good and the high beams point into the sky. I plan on getting the Baja Design Squadrons in the next season or so. I thought about a short light bar as well but the BD crew assured me a single set of the new Squadrons will really light up the road.

I have set mine to where the "center" of the beam is about 8' above the pavement, as far as I can see. Because the "low" beam is the same beam with the little flapper thing cutting off the top of the beam. That keeps the top of the low beam below the back window of cars that I'm behind. When I have a passenger, it gets pretty close to being above the window line though.
