Happy 4th of July everyone (Mericans)
Since our speedometers are off by 7%- 10% does this affect the mileage on the odometer?

I've often wondered this myself. I imagine an easy way to figure it out is to do a longer ride and compare the bikes trip meter to a GPS trip meter. I've got a longer ride tomorrow maybe I'll try it.

Yes and no. Yes, the odo is off too, but not by the same amount as the speedo. Odo error is typically much smaller. When I installed a speedoHealer to correct my '12 it did impact my odo too. Now my odo reads slightly lower than actual, instead of slightly higher than actual as it did prior to the SpeedoHealer install.

I have a Speedohealer on my 2012. It allows adjustments to the speedometer that can result in near perfect accuracy. The closer I get the speedometer to agreement with the GPS the more inaccurate the odometer gets (reads under actual mileage). I've settled on having the speedometer read one MPH fast at 70MPH which seems to result in a 2-3% error in the odo.

I think it also affects the average mpg read out and the count down to zero fuel reading, interested to know what others think

Thanks guys , my actual mpg is about 10% less than what the computer says so this makes sense.
