Ocala National Forest - Jan 8th 2017 ???

So the wife wants to take a trip to Florida first and second week of January. The first thing that came to mind for me was where could I ride my bike. Being from Ohio, I can't really ride here right now so the plan was to bring it with me and see what Ocala was all about.

I've not done much "off road" so I'm really looking forward to checking this place out. January 8th is my free day to ride around. I'd love to get some pointers for Ocala so I can enjoy some of it, or if anybody is free that day some company would be awesome as well. Right now i'm not sure on a good place to start and if the maps/trail heads are pretty easy to figure out.

While there may be some areas of the Ocala National Forest that are doable on the Tenere, the majority of off road are virtually impossible on a big, heavy bike. Sugar sand prevails, and is difficult to ride, no matter how you cut it, and if you lack off road experience on top of that, it will make for a very frustrating day.

Hmm, Yeah I don't want to spend all day frustrated. Any suggestions on something else I can check out while i'm down there? I'm in the Orlando area but don't mind a bit of a drive.
