My number 1:

"How do you like the BMW?" ::010::

I even had one guy ask me at a stoplight if it was a Fiat.

I need to get some Yammie decals as most people don't seem to recognize the tuning forks emblem.

I'm not anti-BMW but it seems funny that all the Tenere's riding around seem to advertise for BMW as they are so tied to the look of the "adventure" bike.

Share your thoughts....

Hey, nice bike. What is it?

Often at traffic stops.

Did come to a light once right beside a brand new 1200GS. Paper tags. Older gentleman. I realize helmets can cover up my friendly nature, :) but after telling him "nice GS", he just blew me off. Totally cold.

I think he knew what I was riding.

"Isn't that kind of tall for you?"

Me: "It's on the center stand. I do fine."

I'm 5'8" - 5'9" ish. It is kind of big, but I do alright with the low seat. I even rode it with the factory seat for the first couple weeks.

How fast is it, is probably my number 1 question. After that its what the hell is that thing? And then what size motor does it have?

And I hope your answer is: It doesn't have a motor, it has an ENGINE (unless they are talking about the starter motor?)

What is that? Is number one, and always followed by is it fast. I always answer no, and they give me a "I'm sorry" look.

I was asked Sunday (Feb 24th) at a traffic light what I was riding and if it could out run a Suzuki GXR750 from a light..... After he caught me at the next light he said "WOW! that thing is fast".(LOL)... I said "it's a Yamaha and you just got smoked by an old guy." I drove away with a smile on my face...

Yep. Mine has been mistaken for a GS a couple of times. When I tell them its a yamaha, it warrants a second look.

No. 1 question: What is that?
No.2 question: Who makes it?
No.3 question: How big is it?
No. 4 question is of course, how do you like it/ how much are they?

I say things like its a "Swiss army knife of motorcycles"
The bike that will do it all
"utility"
All-weather- all-climate, etc.
ALOT of guys surprisingly have no clue what it is. I dont waste too much time unless they really are curious.
