Today I took my S10 for a little ride, first i stopped at my friend's house up the street, left the key in the ignition and the lights on, and drained the battery. When I came out of his garage I tried to start the bike; it wouldn't start. I tried to push start it down the hill, skid the back wheel, and it did't start; just rolled it down tinto my garage. I decided to wash it before recharging the battery, and I plugged the mufler so water wouldn't go into it. After I charged the battery, it still wouldn't start so I called my dealership, who called Yamaha Canada. I was told that the code/error42 that I was seeing on my dash was an indicator of a short in the ECU, and that this could have been damaged by my having added lights, and GPS etc., and to bring the bike in for inspection. Luckily, I didn't have to do this because my buddy came over and noticed the plug in the muffler. Took it out and the bike started working. ::)
I have tried to disconnect the ABS before on the centre stand, and if I shut off the bike, i gives me a code/error 69. This time it gave me a 42. My buddy went on the internet and found out that 42 is the rear wheel sensor, so this must of happened when I skid the wheel trying to push start it. So guys if you get a code/error 42 don't worry; you don't have a fried ECU yet. Also don't leave your keys in the ignition on, turn it off. :)

Direct quote from page 8-119, XTZ12B_ Service Manual
ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM)
Fault code No. 42
Symptom: Rear wheel will not recover from the locking tendency even though the signal is continuously transmitted from the ABS ECU to release the hydraulic pressure (when battery voltage is normal).

Get yourself a new dealer. ::007::

Thanks for confirming that, it was really dum of me for not remembering I had plug the pipe. I was really worried when I couldn't start the bike, and after I got the call from my dealer I was even more worried. I'm not so sure that my dealer called Yamaha Canada, it would be upseting to know if they just wanted my bike in their shop. I have to go there this week to pick up my jacket; I'll ask them who they talked to at Yamaha Canada, so I can clarify what the problem was.
