Not sure if this is the correct drain plug (final drive)

I had to order a new drain plug for my final drive and I think they sent me the wrong one, but I want to be sure.

The part number I ordered was the one ending in 14004, but as you can see someone just slapped that on a post note and really sent me 14149. The only difference I can see is the size of the magnet, the threads are the same.

Should I just 1. use it 2. Cut the magnet down and use it 3. Send it back. I'm anxious to ride and don't want to wait on a new one if I don't need to haha.

Thanks

Stick it in and gently turn the rear wheel. If it clears, I'd use it as is (the more magnet, the better). Otherwise, just cut the fatter part of the magnet off, so it looks like the original.

If what im seeing is accurate, this WONT work. That long magnet it too long. Keep in mind, you can put in a normal bolt (for a temporary solution) and just order a new / correct one... When it comes in, throw it in... It's just a few bucks in oil to change it again.

based on the parts catalogue, 14149 is superseded by 14004, i more than likely they'll just replace it with the same, and isn't a change in price to swap out with another. like others above said, if the bolt fits, then see if the magnet clears (if memory serves, there may be just enough clearance between the end of the magnet and the GearSet inside the pumpkin)... worst case, trim it to size and ride, ride, ride

ok well I tried it, and the magnet was definitely way to long, so i trimmed it down and it seems to be a perfect fit now.

Also if anyone has never cut a magnet before, I was absolutely shocked with how soft the metal is in a magnet! Literally 2 passes with a dull hacksaw blade cut it right in half!

I ordered 14004 drain plug back in February of this year, still not used it. It doesn’t look like that.
