Like many I struggled to find a way to protect the fork seals with the amount of offroad riding the S10 might see. Although I liked the Worldcrosser bit it still could allow grit to get to the fork legs and was/is pricey for the protection. So I was looking for something that fit directly to the fork leg itself and offered what I'll call direct protection. In other words has enough length to prevent mud and grit from getting up to the seal. The investigation showed a a few products. Another requirement was that it be easy to affix and then take off to clean.

I remembered the NOJ guards from my Concours back in the early 1990s before they started to mount the hard plastic guard.

The NOJ is made from a neoprene sheet that wraps around the fork leg and is attached using velcro. All soft materials so that it does not damage the finish. It mounts easily and comes of for cleaning.

I ordered a red and black set directly from NOJ (stands for No Ordinary Journey?) at about 16 bucks a set. Mounted the red to keep with the red/black theme and have had them on for about 8K miles. Absolutely no issues with either the fork seals or the guards in all kinds of weather and miles of dirt roads and the occasional more serious offroad.

The red will stay on until they fall apart (perfect shape currently) then will be replaced with the black. I seem to remember the black sun faded on the Concours which was another reason to run with the red...no fade yet.

Below are pictures of the product packaging, the black guards laying flat and the red guard shown mounted in position.

Note that I have absolutely no affiliation other than being a satisfied customer wanting to share an inexpensive product with provides a solution to many.

YMMV.

Cheers!

Agree. Typical TT pricepoint made the NOJ much more attractive. $16 vs $60 for something that has a limited lifetime.
