Got my new S10 week and a half ago. Put almost all of the first 600 on it in the first 4 days, then it's been just enough to get to 593 since. All is good and really like the bike. I had an '08 FJR for a few years that saw mainly commute service but it was definitely a pleasure to ride. I got the S10 mainly for long, rough trips like to Prudhoe Bay, AK which I plan to do next summer.

I lived in Alaska for 39 years and left 6 years ago to move to New Mexico. After so much snow and ice, it gets old. So I sold what was left of the family homestead and took off. One of my old neighbors in Chickaloon is already excited about my trip, especially if I can find a bunch of ADV riders to go along.

Anyway, glad to be here.

Doug

Welcome Doug ! Can't blame you from leaving to cold. My Alaska experience consists of Northern Warfare Training in Delta Junction in 1980 still dreaming of going back. In the summertime :D

Welcome on, Doug, from ABQ and Alaska. Congrats on that bike. You'll pass right by me on your way to Alaska, so be sure to let me know. I've got room for camping, garage, tools, etc. ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

Doug, greetings from Texas. Welcome to the madness. My dad, brother and I rented bikes in Anchorage a couple summers ago and spent 13 days riding all over Alaska and the Yukon. What an awesome place to ride. Beautiful beyond words! Not sure I'd want to live there, but can't wait to go back. Next time, I want to ride the whole way.
