Just got her home, also took a photo of her next to my last bike (2017 FZ-07). I'm going to finish wrapping things then install the AltRider skid plate I got. I'll post the work order for the parts I was responsible for in a bit. I have off work from now until next Thursday when I go back. My plan is to have the bike fully broken in (the proper way this time) by then with at least 1,000 miles on the odometer.

Just did my first 1,000 miles of the year. Started 2020 with 1,012 miles and just passed 2,014 on the way down to this weeks Polar Bear Grand Tour run. Did a ~710 mile ride yesterday out to Pittsburgh, PA and rode ~100 of the miles on the way back in a medium-heavy snowfall. Only 29,000 miles to go!

Well, just finished the 4,000 mile service. Changed the oil in the engine and final drive, checked the torque on the wheel spokes (a hand full were about 1/3 turn loose), and cleaned the bike a bit. Ready for the next 4,000 miles to come along in another month and a half or so!

You are doing some impressive miles in a short amount of time. My hats off to you. I looked at the Polar Bear site and I'm intrigued. Might have to invite myself to ride with you on a Sunday. Anyway, you came off a FZ09 or FZ07 or something similar, what are your thoughts on buying and riding the S10? Apart from the unfortunate mishap so early in your ownership. And that you are probably on the younger side then many of the folks on here. Just curious. Thanks in advance, Tom

It'd be nice to have another S10 at least at the destinations as I'm the only one so far! Going from 2 FZ-07s, 2 Buells (XB9R and 1125CR) and a Honda Grom that I have no memory of to the S10 was an amazing decision. The bike handles well enough for the riding I do and is much more comfortable which is the main reason I decided to switch. I've got almost 4,600 miles on the S10 now and as long as I get approved for the time off I'll be taking a ride down to Daytona, FL and possibly also Key West, FL during bike week which will put about 3,000 miles onto the bike. I should have at least 10,000 miles on it by the end of March if that happens. This is already my favourite motorcycle of the 6 I've owned since 2011. I rate the S10 a 9.5/10 the extra 0.5/10 is taken off because the seat height could be better with my body if it were about 0.5"-1" lower.

With all the miles your putting on I’m guessing you would be even happier on a new Goldwing with DCT, did you ever take one for a test ride ?

Yes a new Goldwing is a little heavier but because of the much lower center of gravity it actually feels lighter. You really should take one for a test ride.

The Super Tenere is heaviest bike I have ever owned. But boy it sure does handle well and very stable. Congratulations for all the miles and fun you are having it.

Oh I'm aware, it's ~580 lbs wet without any luggage/panniers or extra goodies, 600 lbs is my rough personal limit. The S10 seems perfect for me with the riding style I have. I might test ride one at some point but won't ever buy one as I have no interest in that style motorcycle.

that’s pretty much what I thought before buying my first Goldwing back in the 90’s , after riding it for a couple weeks my opinion changed big time. I enjoy the heck out of the Tenere but the Goldwing is by far my all time favorite motorcycle.
