I saw a thread about user names, but most of us have some kind of Nick Name that was given to us at some time in our lives.

For Instance:

I was stationed in the Army early in my career (1980-1981) at a little island in the south Pacific calls Johnston Atoll. A little dump of an island no where near anything where they stored really nasty stuff like nerve agent, mustard agent and such like keeping it ready to drop on someone at a moments notice. During my time there we had many sporting activities one of which was racquetball. I was pretty good and won a couple of tournaments while there. We also had a little paper for the Island that had all of the news that was or wasn't news. During these sporting events they would give everyone a nick name when mentioned in the "paper". I happened to get the Nick Name of "Lumpy" because it just flowed with my last name of Lunsford. Well... Seems like every time I went to a new duty station after that, someone would see me and Yell Hey Lumpy! It has stuck for many, many years and I am still called by that name. I wear it like a badge of pride. Seems that most people now think it has something to do with me being a police officer... Ha ha...

Post yours here and have fun with it.

I am a Yorkshireman, meaning I originate from the county of Yorkshire in England, Yorkshire folk have a reputation as being blunt and to the point, the rumour that we are also tight fisted (mean) is not deserved, however it is true that if you drop a coin whilst buying me a drink in a bar then that coin will hit the back of my head before it reaches the ground ::025::

The Yorkshire dialect refers to the varieties of English used in the Northern England historic county of Yorkshire. Those varieties are often referred to as Broad Yorkshire or Tyke.

Always had a can of Spam around growing up. Grill it, fry it, whatever. The 16v is from my water cooled VW days.

I was raised on a cattle ranch & punched cows as a kid. When I got back in to motorcycling in 2000 my ex-wife & I had a sizeable horse stable operation.

Since I wear cowboy boots everyday... a Valkyrie motorcycle club I used to belong to gave me the nickname. BTW, a new pair of Sidi riding boots replaced my cowboy boots for motorcycle riding a few years back.

being a professional driver(commercial truck driver)and most drivers use CB radios ,you need a handle. my brother tagged me with madhatter , because I wear a lot of different hats.. I like hats , but am also active with various hobbies and serve in my community in different ways.... truck driver, city council member , past president of my home town cemetery association , deacon in my church , and if you need help, im that neighbor... but as for nick names ive had a few. my mother has a nick name for me , well that's private... but out and about the most common nick name for me has been sunshine.... and not for my sunny disposition, seems that for a time i displayed a fiery temper (and that's another story)so the nick name was given to me by my co-workers... every once in awhile i'll hear some one call out sunshine, and i know they know me.....
