Shawn from Ks here-

I've been researching bigger adventure bikes for the last year or so, something me and my wife can enjoy together. I ride a 2007 KLR 650 now, great bike one up, not so great two up. This forum has helped me make a decision on my top 3 picks, 1000 V Strom, Triumph Tiger 800 XCX, and the Super Tenere. Long story short, I needed comfort for 2, reliability, and dealer support. After many hours on the Internet reading and watching review after review, I kept coming back to the Super Tenere. Comfort, off road capabilities, suspension travel, ground clearance, reliability aND dealert support. I found a few 2013 new leftovers at used 2013 prices. I came to the conclusion that the 2013's didn't sell well because everyone was waiting for the new 2014 design. We purchased a new 2013 white Super Tenere and I opted for the 4 year extended YES warranty because of the few issues I did see with the first generation S10's. So far with a few hundred miles one and two up, on road and off road, we are very happy with our choice. Thank you everyone for helping with the decision.

ratfink64,

Hello from over in Iowa! I was just over in your neck of the woods a few months ago to pickup a skidloader. It's nice to have another adv rider that brings the wife along too. If you ever want to really know what the S10 is capable of, then look up eemsreno in the threads. He takes his wife on quite a few trips and even good off-road ones at that. Hope you enjoy it as much as my wife and I have and after making her comfortable, we get a lot further down the road before stopping. Last great ride we took was the Blue Ridge Parkway down and then over through Gatlinburg. Beautiful scenery that no car can do.

Safe riding!

jbjke thanks for the kind words, eemsreno - I hit the link of your Alaska RR yesterday. I was glued to the notebook for hours, very, very, impressive! Don't think I could pull off a trip like that. I've never camped on long trips, I may have to try it sometime, you inspire the H**l out of me! Take care everyone.
