8) So I sold my BMW GS in Oct and have decided to make the Tenere my next bike, I sold it after the warranty expired basically for the reason it cost so much to service, from what I see the Tenere will need less visiting at the service center. I have not settled yet and missed out on a very low mileage 15 I tried to make a trade on but my bike had 38000 and he was not interested. Of course it was gone the same week mine went. So anyway, I am now in the market and really interested in the 16 anniversary paint scheme and I like the idea of finding a left over, is there a place where I can find here dealer inventory to one maybe in my area? I am in Vermont and have emailed a few places 'local" that have the 16 advertised on Cycle-Trader but they don't really have them. I guess if I have to I will get in on the 17 but really don't care for the non- Yamaha Blue, the 18 color is great but would prefer getting a deal on a left over. From what I have researched anything after 14 is all the same with the ES and color being the only difference? Excited to get back into Yamaha, as a kid I hammered on an IT 175 and spoke with a few riders in my travels that were very happy with the Tenere. Thanks for any support!

Welcome aboard. We have a lot of members who have come from the GS community with stories like yours. Good luck in your search for the yellow. With the onset of snow where you are, it'll give you a winter hunt. Since there are so few painted pieces on the bike, we've had a few members buy a brand new bike, get the decal set, and have those four pieces re-painted. Or swap with somebody who had the desired color. Doubt you'll find somebody willing to get rid of a yellow set though.

Yes, 2014+ are essentially the same, with color and ES/non-ES being the big differences.

::004:: Good news....my GREAT local dealer has a 60th Anniversary sitting on the floor. Bad news....here in Texas. Good news....Cold front came through and we're down in the upper 50's. Fly and ride?

Tough time of year for a fly n ride in the northeast. Springtime things will open up if you can wait. The yellows will be a little tougher to get.

Welcome to the club, my local dealer in Texas (Maxim Honda/Yamaha) has a yellow special addition, brand new, but the down side is it’s in Texas and it is not the ES model.

Best of luck finding what you are looking for.

::004:: to the best motorcycle forum ever.

Standard or ES? ES !!! I am sure you can find a leftover 16 or 17 for a good deal.
