Been posting and inquiring a bit, but never introduced myself. I live north of San Francisco, originally hail from New England. Been riding since I was 10. Owned a boatload of bikes. My last three were beemers (04 1150GSA, 07 RT1200 and an 07 1200GS). Requisite Harley's, rice rockets, dirt bikes, etc.

Was just in Brazil for a month visiting family (wife hails from there). Was loaned a GS800 and ended up putting 600 miles on road and dirt (man, if you can ride there, you can ride anywhere!). Hadn't been riding for the past year and a half. Wife gave the green light to get a new bike, hence why I'm here.

Been doing research on S10's and have owned yammies before. I like riding with reliability and less down time due to 'issues'. Been scouring for used bikes. Came across this recently:

2013 w/17k on the clock. Factory bags, Yoshi exhaust, skid plate, crash bars, bar risers, fork protectors, Puig screen for 9.5k. I was wondering based on the bike ( not the farkles) if that seems reasonable? It's at a BMW dealer I used to go to for service. I'm including a pic.

Thanks! Mike

Greetings from just a few miles south in Gilroy. I'm also a transplant from New England (Auburn, MA) but have lived here for 40 years.

That's a good looking bike but I think that you can do better on the price. Last year I picked up a 2012 with factory luggage, 2 windscreens, skid plate etc. with 2,000 miles on it for $8,000. Since then, I've seen a few in that price range. I think the dealer needs to come down to about $8,500 ???

Working on it! Unfortunately, unless new, not a lot around. Or, the asking prices are even more unrealistic, with way less, than this! I hail from South Deerfield and B-Town

Hello from Illinois! I agree with jmcgilroy, seems high for that year and mileage. Keep in mind I think you can ship a bike from anywhere is the US for I think around $500? good luck on your hunt!

Actually did you see the 2012 on this forum in the for sale section? Low miles and quite a few Farkles for under 8k.

Welcome from Sacramento CA. We need to get the NorCal Riders together for a ride.

I have owned a 2012 (52,200 miles) and currently own a 2015 ES (17,400 miles). Personally the 2014+ is a better motorcycle with all the improvements and I enjoy the extras of the ES.

::004:: From Alma,Arkansas. As others have said, you can do better. I bought a brand new 2013 (60 miles on clock) plus extended 5 year warranty for $10,000 OTD.

Good Luck

Well, got the bike and knocked the price down to 8,900$. Just put 97 miles on it riding back down the coast from Jenner to Olema on Hwy. 1 and back home. Love this bike! Very happy.

That is mostly a tough 55 mile ride. Once south of Pacifica it's fantastic!

I agree if you are talking 'tough' as the SF / GG Bridge traffic. I avoid it if possible. Haven't been to Alice's the last two years. Hope to get there soon.

- Funner https://goo.gl/maps/ZWqPw7G47em

But the riding and scenery is worth it.

Congrats on the new bike from Chicago. My favorite road in the Bay Area after Alice's Restaurant is Mines Road in Livermore to 130 over Mt Hamilton. That was fun!
