That's a nice jacket, my son has one. However, I have had words with several top Tourmaster people about the line:

"The microfiber lined collar and cuffs are soft yet durable"

You will find that unlike all other Tourmaster jackets that I have seen, it does not have a microfiber lined collar. A bit irritating until it has been washed a few times.

I never got any satisfaction about my complaints, except for them teling me that they would pass on my feedback. False advertising.

Thanks for the heads up Fred I will check it out really well when it arrives. I don't want any irritation while riding. I hope this won't be the case I did not see the collar or cuffs mentioned as a negative in any of the reviews but you never know how something is going to feel until you try it on.

I have and have had a lot of Tourmaster jackets and love them, Vince. Presently have a hi viz Transition 2. They all had comfortable microfiber lined collars. I was really disappointed when this one arrived for my son and it didn't have microfiber in the collar. as the ad said it did. He lives in Biloxi, MS, where it is pretty warm most of the time so a vented jacket makes sense and he liked it enough that he kept it. He said after washing it, it softened up a bit. I talked to Tourmaster reps at the Indy Dealer Show last year and this and complained about the misleading advertising and never got a good explanation, just promised that they would "pass that info on". My opinion is that it is a good jacket that could be much better if it had that feature they advertise.

Thats funny you mentioned the Transition 2 because the first jacket to pop up in the Motorcycle Superstore site was the new Transition 3. I checked that jacket out hard plus my new Cycleworld mag came the other day and there was a full page ad for the T3 in the first few pages. Nice jacket plus it was on sale and was cheaper then the Sonora jacket. The only reason I didn't jump on it is our VA summers with humidity and temps I really wanted to stick with a mesh jacket. I just hope this collar won't be an issue. Hey Fred do you machine wash your jackets? I want to wash my fieldsheer winter jacket and my joe rocket but the labels say do not machine wash or take a cleaner. Thanks

Nice looking jacket! What I REALLY need to do is clean out several jackets I no longer wear and make some room in my "mc gear closet!!

Hi Vince,

Yes, I remove the armour and wash them, no problems so far.

Edit: As I mentioned, my son lives in a very warm climate and likes the jacket so much that he adapted to the lack of microfiber in the collar and it did soften up. As for me, I'm an old stick in the mud and wouldn't buy it because of the lack of the soft collar lining and the fact that they refuse to correct their advertising or add the lining that they advertise.

That reminds me of the first Aerostich Darien jacket I bought a long time ago. Previous to that I had an Aerostich Roadcrafter, which has a soft collar lining, I believe they called it Ultrasuede. When I got that Darien, it had no such lining and I called Aerostich to express my disappointment with the rather uncomfortable unlined collar. I was told that they wanted the Darien to be more waterproof than the Roadcrafter and had decided that an Ultrasuede collar would absorb some water in a downpour. They did agree to send me a piece of their Ultrasuede and I paid an alteration shop to sew it in. Fast forward to today and the Darien jackets now come with a soft lined collar. :)
