Finally back on an adventure bike. I have owned a couple of older R100GS's (89 and 91) and a F650dakar many years ago. Spare time has been spent club racing for the last 15 years and though I have always had a street bike of some sort my street miles have been limited to commuting.
A big crash has ended my racing hobby and after looking at the Africa twin for a bit I came across a nice low mileage 2013 Grey Tenere and I picked it up late in August. My commuter has been a KLR for the past few years and I loved the bike except for it's lack of power. Nice to get back on something with more juice and it sure makes long distance rides more enjoyable.
Only a year out from breaking my femur into a bunch of pieces and the weight of the bike is the only thing causing me issues so far. She is a heavy pig but as the leg gets better I am sure the weight will bother me less and less.
Hope to get out on some long rides before the snow falls.
