New Owner from Big Bend

Been riding since 2015, on my first and, until last Friday, only bike: a 2002 SV650S.

I live out in Far West Texas, about an hour's ride from BBNP. I came out here for dark skies, desert climate, and cheap land. I have easy access to many miles of well-maintained blacktop twisties and no shortage of dirt roads and jeep trails, so it was only a matter of time before I joined up here.

I'm fairly outdoorsy and my buddy on a GS talked me into getting an adventure bike. I went on a S10 demo ride at MotoGP CotA earlier this year. Broke my clavicle later that same day on an electric scooter trying to meet said buddy down in the paddock, so had to wait until that healed up to pull the trigger.

Got myself a 2023 S10 ES with 1 mile on the odo, and just signed up, as I intend to do most/all of my own maintenance, modifications, etc.

Spent my first 30ish years in the DFW area, and moved Out West a couple years ago. I visited Alpine/Marfa/Fort Davis about 12 years ago to climb Mt Livermore, and decided back then that I would one day live out there. I finally finished my undergrad in the Fall of '19, and started looking to buy a house. I always thought moving out here was retirement plans, but when Covid sent all of us tech workers home, I figured "what the hay". Found a house on ~12ac with fiber internet that had been listed for nearly three years and closed on it at nearly the bottom of the interest rate dip.

For as wild as the past several years have been, I've been quite fortunate.

I'm actually somewhat familiar with Joshua! My wife (of 1 year) and I sold her house in the Primrose area a few months ago, just a few minutes up CTP from y'all.
