Hello everybody,

I've pretty much been riding for over 45 years now. Ridden just about all of them but now ride a 2013 S-10 and a 09 KLR-650. The S-10 is a replacement for a Honda ST1300 that was simply warn out. The S-10 isn't nearly as plush as the old ST was but it sure does open up the possibilities with the off road capabilities on long rides. I sure do miss the ST on really long rides but really don't want to relive getting "stuck" in so many places the ST should never have been.

It was nice to find the Tenere forum and hope to be here for a long time. (or until my riding style changes again) hehhehe

Welcome, and once you get the tenere set up, you will be surprised how well it eats up the miles.

Welcome, yankeerider. Lots of (mostly former) ST1300 riders on this list besides me. No glove box or electric windshield but I am enjoying mine. Ever ride Hurricane Mountain Road in NH? fun stuff...

The S10 sounds like a real good choice for you to do long rides that include off-road terrain... altho sounds like you were pretty adventurous w/ the old ST. ::012::

That's funny, I'm from central MA and rode thru Keene twice this week; once heading up to Newport another doing a loop over to Monadnock. There are about 10 or so S10s in New England. I'll add you to the e-mail list we sometimes use. ::008::

Cheers and welcome.

Welcome! ::003:: I lived in Keene for 18 years until 2005. Great town. I had a house along Main St down by the college.

Welcome on, YR from NH. Congrats on joining the Tenere movement. I sold my ST1300 because I was not riding it anymore. I found the Tenere more comfortable. Hopefully, you will come to find that the case as well. ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

Wow!
I was surprised to see just how many of us used to be ST riders. I still see myself buying another ST in the future but for now the s10 and the KLR suit me fine. I've had the s10 for about a year now and clocked about 20,000 miles so far. It can really tear up dirt roads and I just love it on loose gravel. Still a little iffy in soft sand because it really cranks when you get on it hard. I can ride the KLR flat out in the sand but the s10 gets that speed up there pretty quick for an old guy. Was thinking about wider bars for off road. The bike sure does shine on dirt roads though. Taking it up to Northern Maine this weekend for some logging road fun with a friend with a DR650. She's a adventure guide local to northern Maine and knows some really great places to ride.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure I'll be seeing you on some of these New England roads.
