Hello everybody.
If been following this forum for a while, preparing and getting a inside view on the super ténéré. My main purpose was (like most of us, I suppose) get to know the bike and eventual issues. I came to realize that is a very reliable machine, with minor issues. So....I bought a brand new s10 just a couple of weeks ago. Therefore I have to thank you all for your individual and collective contribution in my (very good) decision of buying a S10. I plan to keep it for a long time (if been trading bikes every year or so, and Im tired of that, want to marry and be faithful so I chose exactly that bike I wanted, no escuses... ::025:: ). I test rode the AT, the GS1200, the KTM 1050 and decided on the S10. So we got married on the 13 of May 2016!
Mine is a non Es model, in matte grey. My frakles so far: Givi crash bars, OEM panniers, OEM top case, all in black (I read all you've written about the lock etc, (thank you) but decided to risk it because I liked the panniers and the case looks on the bike and I disliked the looks of all other mounts - had them on my wee Strom because there was no viable alternative - still have my kappas kgr33- ), swmotech quick release GPS mount, Garmin zumo 340 lm, OEM wind side spoilers, removed all the warning sticks, techspec tank pad, lowered seat etc...the future will tell.
I need to make a decision on a bash plate...any one?
I'm been riding for more then 30y (had many many bikes over the years). I'm always planning the next ride. I prefer to go on long trips across Europe, traveled across Marrocos two times, and across southern Europe from Portugal where I live.
Hope I can contribute to this forum in a meaningful way. I sure will try.
