Hello all,

I am new to your site but not to Yamaha's, I have two vintage Ventures. One of them, a 1983 has a complete VMax drive train in it and is very quick.

I was invited here by a member of your group that purchased a steering head wrench that I have sold for a few years. It is the only thing I sell.

Will I be allowed to post a reference to this wrench here and sell it? Wrench is P/N's YU-33975, YU-01268, 90890-01403, 90890-01268

Picture of wrench & 1983 Venture/VMax attached.

Good day, Dingy, and welcome to the Forum. As a member, please feel free to participate in any topic you wish. If you are posting as a vendor, post under the Vendor section. I'll move this there and you'll see what I'm referring to ... assuming I do this right. Again, ::004:: , and thanks for asking. R

You guys are going to hate me in my 1st thread.

I guess I didn't expect much reaction this fast. I have an order in place with my supplier that will be delivered by June 8th. I have sold quite a number of these with not one returned.

They are $28.00 including US shipping. $31.00 to Canada including shipping & $34.00 to rest of the world, also including shipping. They will ship 1st Class USPS. Preferred pay method is paypal, but I will also take checks or money orders.

If you are interested, send me a message & I will let you know as soon as they arrive.

Below is description I use for this item.

Tool is a direct replacement for the tool Yamaha recommends for setting torque on the steering head nut.

Use of this tool allows the service manual procedure to be used exactly as is with no torque conversion settings.

Use of this tool will help improve front end handling of bike.

Yamaha equivalent P/N's YU-33975, YU-01268, 90890-01403, 90890-01268

Tool is laser cut from 1/4" thick, 304 Stainless Steel, mill finish.

Tool measures about 1 3/8" x 4".

Socket extension & ring nut shown in pictures not included.

US orders take 3 to 6 days to get delivered, Canadian orders average 2 to 3 weeks. Other locations vary, most are 10 days.

Is the Gen one Vmax motor, a direct bolt in or is there a lot of mods making it work in the Venture?
Direct replacement as far as block. Adding the V-Boost setup is a PIA. V-Boost raises carbs 1 1/4" making throttle & choke cable mods necessary. Also slight interference when dropping carbs into boots with L.R. carb.

85-89 VMax ignition same as 83-89 Ventures. 90-07 VMax ignition same as 90-93 Ventures.

Venture exhaust must be used. VMax won't fit because of difference with frame due to VMax having conventional twin shocks & Venture having mono shock.

A GREAT improvement.
